Description
POLYRETANDER is a set-retarding admixture for concrete that can also act as a water reducer depending on the dosage.
Fields of Application:
- Improves long-term mechanical strengths (+20–30%) through 10–15% water reduction
- Specific Conditions:
- Suitable for hot weather or mass concrete (e.g., dams)
- Ideal for delayed pours to prevent rapid temperature rise
- Enables long-distance concrete transport under difficult conditions
- Enhances workability for pumped or exposed concrete
General Characteristics:
On fresh concrete:
- Improves workability while reducing water content
- Delays setting and maintains fluidity for proper placement
- Reduces segregation and increases thixotropy
On hardened concrete:
- Increases density, impermeability, and mechanical strength
- Reduces shrinkage and creep
- Distributes heat release during cement hydration
